Wild Horse and Burro Expo, Reno Nevada 2003

We had an excellent opportunity to meet with several dignitaries and we are thankful for Kathleen Clarke, Director of Bureau Land Management for giving us a chance to share our thoughts and ideas.  We sat and talked about how to improve adoptions for the Wild Horse and Burro program and offered post adoption follow-up.  We share common goals and weaknesses that need to be improved on and strengths to be continued.  Mrs. Clarke has resigned from the BLM on Feb. 1, 2007 and we look forward to working with the new Director when this position is filled.

Along with several stars visiting the expo we had an opportunity to meet with Donovan Tea, national singer who just happen to opening for the Lettermen that night dropped in and said hello.  Being a native Texan and spokesperson for the BLM he will be joining us on one of the fun raisers at the Wild Horse Foundation soon.

While he is no stranger to the BLM, Jeff Rawson being the newly appointed Group Manager of the Wild Horse Program shared some thoughts with us and ideas on how we can continue to support and help the adoption program grow.

It was our pleasure visiting with Dawn Lappin who is one of the strongest wild horse supporters today.  She has graciously accepted our request to be on our WHF National Advisory Board to help us forge new ground in protecting and promoting the wild horse and burro adoption program. This is not a paid position.  We had a great time talking with her and her husband at the expo adoption.  Recently we had a request from Cathy Barcomb to drop Dawn on our board proposal due to conflicts.  We wish Dawn well in her health and continued success with the wild horse concerns.
