Our Products
In consultation with a variety of veterinarians, we devised a system of tubes to hold our cool crystals in the areas of the horse’s body where the major arteries and veins are closest to the surface of the skin.
By cooling the blood, the heart pumps the cooled blood throughout the body, helping the horse remain cool in the warm weather or reducing inflammation due to injuries. The end result is products that stay cool for an extended time with absolutely no refrigeration. The products may also be heated in the microwave or frozen to ice an injury. They can be used for many years by hydrating in warm tap water.
Our most popular offering is the Cool Boot. This Boot will stay cool for over a week to help reduce swelling and inflammation in the hoof and leg areas.
Our Cool Leg Wraps are a close second in popularity. They wrap around the legs to cool, heat or ice inflammation or injury. They are simply held in place by vet wrap and stay cool for two to three weeks.
The Cool Helmet is a new means of cooling a horse turned out to pasture or while being trailered to an event. It covers the top third of the head and is held in place by the head strap of a halter or bridle. It stays cool two to three weeks. Re-soak to use again.
Two sizes of Hock Wraps help cool, ice or heat a joint with a unique shape making it difficult to keep wrapped. These specially designed wraps are held in place with velcro so they adjust for different sizes of horses. They stay cool for two to three weeks.
Cooling a horse before working is not common, now it’s so easy with our Cool Chest Mat. Just clip it to the saddle rings and use the quick release snaps to connect it around the girth. A large square cool mat is held over the chest area of the horse. The safe 60° - 65°F temperature cools the blood as it passes through the lungs to pick up oxygen. The heart circulates the cooled blood throughout the body to cool the horse.
Our Cool Belly Roll is another way to cool a horse, both before and after activities in hot weather. It is a wide tube that is filled with the cooling crystals and designed to go around the body of the horse in front of the girth to cool in the joints behind the front leg. It’s is held in place by wide webbing that goes over the back and ties in a ring like the girth. It can be used while being ridden, or grazing in the pasture.
To cool the blood in the neck, we designed the Cool Neck Wrap. It has adjustable side release buckles along the topside of the neck. These buckles have a protective flap beneath so they won’t leave creases on the mane: and over the top to discourage your horse from nibbling on them. The cool crystals are in four large tubes that go the full length of the underside of the neck to cool the major arteries and veins located there. A smaller tube circles around the upper part of the neck behind the cheeks. A wedge of tubes follows the arteries up the side. The neck wrap will stay cool about three weeks.

Cool Product Information
At SherBert Stuff, all of our Cool Products are made with specially manufactured crystals that when soaked with warm tap water, absorb over 400 times their size in water. As the water evaporates, a chemical reaction gives off 60° – 65°F, generally 62°F, which is a safe temperature for an overheated animal or person. All of our cool products are made from nylon or polyester fabrics so they will withstand the continual soaking and drying necessary to stay cool.
Your horse’s safety is our first concern at SherBert Stuff, so the crystals used in our products are non-toxic. If your horse should swallow the crystals, when a small amount of pressure is put on them, such as the action of the intestines, they break down into tiny pieces. These small pieces will safely pass through their system.
The crystals will retain their coolness for one to four weeks, depending on the size of the cool product and the thickness of the tubes. Simply soak the product in warm tap water according to the directions.
When the products have evaporated and the tubes are no longer round, all that is necessary is to re-soak the crystals and use them. They are ready to use again and again. If cared for properly. By hanging them to ventilate when not being used, these products will give years of satisfaction.
Heat or Freeze the Products
Hydrate the crystals, then:
To heat: put in the microwave for three to eight minutes. They give off a moist heat that will stay warm for 30 to 90 minutes depending on your microwave and the tube size.
To freeze: dry the fabric surface. Then lay it flat in the freezer. When it is frozen it will crunch and bend around an injury.

Using the Products
Cooling horses has always been a difficult process, especially in the hot areas of the world. Generally the biggest concern has been to cool them safely after strenuous activities. SherBert Stuff Cool Products can easily solve this problem.
A horse involved in any strenuous activity is generally wet and many times lathered. This is evidence of an elevated body temperature and an overheated horse, sometimes dangerously overheated.
As they evaporate, our products give off a chemical reaction of 60°-65°F, which will cool the blood that passes by the non-toxic cool crystals. The heart circulates this cooled blood throughout the entire body of the horse resulting in a much cooler horse.
Just as important, but not often done, is the process of cooling them safely before strenuous activities. SherBert Stuff Cool Products solve this problem just as easily. In hot weather, a horse standing outside or in an un-air conditioned barn will also have an elevated body temperature. They may not be wet or lathered, but if you take their temperature, it will generally be elevated higher than you would expect. By cooling the blood in these animals, they will react more like they would in 60° - 70° weather. Whether preparing to participate in roping, cutting, racing, jumping, hunting, dressage, or any other strenuous activity, if the horse is cool and comfortable, it will perform with less stress and more energy. This will result in more positive results, regardless of the type of activity. By cooling the horse slowly at 60°-65°F, we are cooling them safely, regardless of the air temperature.
