WILD HORSE FOUNDATION

With the current newly proposed amendment to reestablish the wild horses from sell-to-slaughter, Congressman Rahall (D) Virginia, wisely choose to send a bill to be voted to the floor on May 19, 2005 which passed by wide margins.
After talking to Congressman Chet Edwards, (D) 17th District, Texas, he informed us that we the Wild Horse Foundation was the only constituents that had contacted his office in support to pass this legislation. If the people of this country want to protect whats left of its national heritage then they are going to have to do a better job of communicating to there congressman and senators. The thought, oh, someone else will call and asked them vote for it comes to mind. Well, if you vote, if you pay taxes then you to voice your opinion because it does matter.
Congressman Edwards spent most of his holiday weekend visiting with us and others in his district and also he made it a point to thank all veterans for fighting and protecting this great country. I for one can not ever say that our government doesn't work weekends and especially holiday weekends.
We THANK the Congressman for making time to us .
New and exciting News for wild horses from the foundation.
We will be receiving 35 wild horses over the age of 10 under the new law, and we will be placing them into new adopted homes. As we have always been thankful for this great state of Texas and the Texans for there support for the wild horses we're stepping up to the plate to introduce a new way to protect, detect and make sure every wild horse or burro does not fall into sell-kill buyers hands and the slaughterhouses.
Micro-chipping wild horses!
We are micro-chipping every horse- thats right-every horse so when the time comes and someone steal or sells illegally an adopted horse they can be tracked faster and prosecuted quicker. Every slaughterhouse, 3 in the USA and 4 in Canada plus the numerous brand inspectors can be notified of each wild horse when missing. We are going to great lengths to help protect these wild horses and burros and as other horse groups talk about it.
Avid Equine I.D. Dr. Wade, DVM has been a great supporter in helping this get started. We have the micro-chip reader so after every chip is installed we can positively identify each and every wild horse or burro. For more information on micro-chipping your horse contact your local vet or www.avidequineid.com for more information.
The foundation in its efforts to help every horse owner can micro-chip your horse for a small fee of $40.00 per chip.
If you have a current coggins you can bring your horse to us and we can micro-chip it and be gone in 5 minutes. Take the time to permanently identify your horse.
