Hurricane Katrina - Hurricane Rita Wild Horse Foundation receives horses from southeast Louisiana, southeast Texas, we moved over 400 we have more requests to help and are doing so as we speak.
SPECIAL THANKS--On behalf of the residents and pets of Polk County, we want to thank you and the Wild Horse Foundation. Your generous donations and delivery of pet food and supplies during the Hurricane Rita crisis helped so much. The food and supplies have helped a lot of people and their pets during a time of great need. It was great to meet you. Keep up the good work! Angela Everitt, Polk County, Texas
Disclaimer-This money raised will not be going to American Red Cross or HSUS or any other organization where it would be lost for ever, this money will go straight into the hands that need it and we will post any and all receipients. We dropped off over 10,000lbs of cat, dog and horse food. In the mass organized confusion we are placing the food into the hands that actually need without the middle getting in the way.
This Drive is for the Mississippi-Alabama-East Texas animals who seemed to have been forgotten by not by us and central Texas.
-Next date to be determined-
Hurricane Animal Food Drive - 3 locations in Waco, Texas at the Heart Of Texas Fair Complex on Bosque Blvd, east parking lot, Brazos Feed & Supply, 1505 La Salle, Temple, Fuzzy Friends Rescue in Waco on 6321 Airport Road.
We will be accepting all dry foods for Cats, Dogs and Horses and monetary donations will be used to purchase hay and vet supplies as needed.
Together with the other groups forming assistance, the foundation will be sending immediately supplies to assist in efforts to prevent animals from starving from needless conditions. As seen on CBS-TV thousand of folks are loading onto buses and having to leave their pets behind. Our goal is to get food into areas where the animals can't find food.
One key concern is that any animal left in the flood waters run the serious risks of disease not normally obtained, our goal is to check as many animals for immediate assistance and place them into shelters that are still available while supplying these shelters with food, vet supplies as we can.

The Wild Horse Foundation has received many phones calls from horse lovers and owners across the gulf coast seeking places to put their horses during the storm that is coming and most likely will cause enormous damage to area pastures, by flooding contaminated water and other problems.
We have been able to open up over 16,000 acres of land that will help to feed and water literally hundreds of horses.
Some of our local ranches who have these lands are more than happy to help and accommodate to assist damage victims in anyway they can. The WHF has made arrangements for over 1,000,000 pounds of hay for this effort already on the ground in location.
While we wish no harm or injury to any life. We are here to help in anyway we can.
If you would like to help the WHF by donating to help us, we would greatly appreciate it.
