Lacy J. Dalton letter to the Governor of Nevada.

Dear Steve,
I’m writing to say “Thank you so very much” for your help in facilitating the investigation into the Virginia Range Wild Horse adoptions being done by Ray Field in Texas.
The Department of Agriculture could not have been more helpful and professional. Don Henderson sent Brand Inspector Mike Holmes along with our representative Olivia Fiamengo, past president of many years of the Virginia Range Wildlife Protection Association. During her tenure, the VRWPA was the most successful adoption agency for the state. Also during that time, my foundation (Let ’em Run) and Olivia donated funds which were matched by the Department of Agriculture (under Paul Iverson) to start the prison horse training program at Warm Springs which, as I’m sure you know, is the most successful rehabilitation program for inmates here in Nevada. It is also of immeasurable benefit to the adoption program. Olivia is currently the director and curator of Let ’em Run’s “Comstock Wild Horse & Mining Museum,” which won the Governor’s Award for Tourism last year.
Olivia and Mike have completed an exhaustive report on their findings, which we can supply to you, if you wish. Basically, it’s very good news. They did find a few things and a couple of recommendations for the future but, all-in-all, it appears that Mr. Field and company are doing a good job down there (at least this time).
I cannot tell you how delighted I am that the findings are so encouraging and cannot thank you enough for the cooperation and courtesy of Don Henderson, Michael Holmes and, of course, yourself.
We feel that we have reached a new level of partnership and understanding with the department and look forward to working together on new and exciting projects like our Comstock Wild Horse Sanctuary and Mining Reclamation project near Virginia City. We believe that this attraction will greatly enhance tourism to the under-visited Comstock Historic District and Northern Nevada, in general.
Again – Many, many thanks. Please feel free to call me anytime if there is anything I (or we) can do to repay your kindness.
With Very Warmest Thoughts and Best Regards,
Lacy J. Dalton
President
