2004 Brings in a new baby!

Yep, all parts are and working so far!

Star looking at her son, making sure everything is where it's suppose to be.

Here I use towels to dry the baby off.  In most cases you can use dry hay.  This keeps a natural smell on the baby and cuts down on rejection.  From time to time, mares will disown their foals.

At this point I'm drying off the new born to prevent any chance of pneumonia from occurring.  When the temperature drops below freezing we take all precautions.

Here, "Sunrise" tries to get up.  In the wild or captivity the foals always try and get up as soon as possible for there own safety from predators.
